We are nearly a third of the way to our goal. Currently we have enough fabric cut up to make about forty pillowcases and plenty more fabric just waiting to be used to hopefully get us to 100 and beyond. Although we are sure to reach our goal with the donations we have already received, if you want donate and see your fabric in the hands of a child, feel free to send it to us.
We make bright and fun pillowcases for children undergoing long term hospital care. We hope that this small contribution will brighten up a child's environment and put an all important smile on their face. We rely heavily on our kind and generous sponsors, and are truly grateful for any donations of handmade pillowcases, fabric or money to help us continue our effort.

The only place where housework comes before needlework is in the dictionary
Yesterday we received another package from the USA. It was kindly donated by the Gagnons and was full of wonderfully bright patterned fabric. Mark went straight to work preparing it for pillowcase bodies and ends, while Laura mixed and matched the pieces and sewed the parts together.
Here are our latest 5 pillowcases. Do you recognise any of the fabric as being your own?

A stitch in time saves nine
Today we cut up and prepared most of the material that we have been given into pillowcase 'bodies' and 'ends'. This way it will be really quick for us to make the next batch of pillowcases. We can't wait to start matching up the next patterns!
We also put our first 20 pillowcases in the wash and they are currently hanging out to dry. All they need now is to be ironed and placed into individual zip lock bags so that they are kept clean and sanitary for the kids. We are so excited to send out the first batch to the Alexandra Hospital in Brighton!!
