So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye

We have just completed a further 18 pillowcases and now 'the cupboard is bare', so to speak.

We had, of course, hoped that we would continue to receive donations of fabric / money and that we would continue to have enough time to make the pillowcases. However, our fabric drawer is bare and we have less and less time these days. We have therefore come to realise that this is perhaps the end of Love, the Tanguays.

We have turned around 2 football field lengths of fabric and a couple of old shirts into 158 pillowcases.

On 1 February 2012, we started this project with the aim of making 100 pillowcases in 1 year. This seemed like a difficult challenge, however, with the help of friends, family and total strangers from all over the world, we have managed to surpass this original goal. We have loved meeting the staff and patients at the hospitals and have been touched by the letters and emails we have received from thankful children and parents.

We don't plan to stop here with our philanthropy. Laura is looking into doing a hike or Tough Mudder type event for charity and she'll probably rope Mark into doing it with her. Mark also regularly helps his school raise money for various causes.

Thank you again to those of you that still check up on our little blog and to those of you that have sponsored or otherwise supported us.

Look back to us some time soon to see a picture or two of the last 18 pillowcases.
